The AquaHolic Journey Curriculum

This Yoga Teacher Training program will provide you with the necessary credentials and ability to teach all over the world. Our Yoga Alliance Accredited 200-Hour Curriculum uniquely blends the history and philosophical teachings of yoga with the essential components of asana, anatomy and sequencing. While the curriculum is stacked for an immersive learning experience, the delivery is hands-on and personalized, encouraging a well-rounded approach to developing both your personal practice and your teaching skills. We guarantee you that this experience will be richly informative, empowering, inspiring and completely unforgettable.


The training is specifically designed to help you:

  • Advance your study of asana (including proper alignment, benefits, and contraindications of the physical postures)
  • Understand the principles of anatomy and body mechanics
  • Explore the science and art of sequencing
  • Learn and practice hands-on adjustments
  • See and interpret how energy moves through the body
  • Use props to improve or modify a posture
  • Cultivate your voice, both as a teacher and as an individual
  • Build confidence through practice teaching
  • Gain a broader understanding of yoga history and philosophy
  • Learn and define the Sanskrit names of postures

The Destination

Our Puerto Aventuras, Mexico Yoga Teacher Training program will give you the opportunity to immerse yourself in your yoga practice and give you a deep sense of the rich culture that the Mayan Riviera has to offer.
Our training is located right on the beach in a breezy studio that offers views of the Caribbean sea. The studio is part of the Puerto Aventuras Beach Club, in a gated community that is secluded and serene.

Puerto Aventuras is the thriving nautical community of the Mayan Riviera. With a marina, white sandy beaches, golf course, multiple restaurants to dine in, and a large green space and park, it provides a sanctuary in an idyllic, nurturing space, full of the revitalizing qualities of the Caribbean Sea. This program focuses on self love and self care as a path to bliss and awakening. The opportunities for massage, Mayan rituals, and yoga are abundant in this beautiful place!

Location and Travel Logistics

You can access Puerto Aventuras by flying into Cancun (CUN) International Airport. From there it’s a 60 min drive to Puerto Aventuras, via Taxi or Shuttle. Ground transportation can be arranged for you by sending us an email.

Prerequisite

All levels are welcome so long as you have a consistent yoga practice. Must be at least 16 years old.


The Schedule

This immersive and intensive program, is part destination format, with 22 total days of in-person training with 2 days off, and 30 hours of online theory classes to complete before or after we meet. The virtual portion of the training will be self paced. The in-person intensive format will focus on going deep into the Alignment based Yoga Asana Practice, with an emphasis on safe and intelligent sequencing, practice teaching, and adjustments. The online classes will be a combination of pre-recorded video to watch at your convenience, as well as zoom meetings. Our mentorship program is designed to support you through your Yoga Journey and the path that you feel passionate about taking. Being that the in person-training is near Playa Del Carmen and Tulum, you may want to arrive prior to the in-person training, or stay afterwards to explore the world-class surroundings.

The first day of in-person training is Saturday June 5th and the last day of training is Saturday June 26th.

Plan on traveling and arriving on or before June 4th, and departing on June 27th or later. Accommodations are your responsibility and there are 3 major Hotels in Puerto Aventuras as well as a variety of vacation rentals.

Making Tea a Ritual ~ 5 Minutes to Mindfulness

As simple as this may sound, and as cheesy as this video may be, there really are a ton of benefits in turning the act of drinking a cup of tea, into a mindful ritual.

Of course I shot this video BEFORE the days of quarantined life, and now drinking tea is something I do with my kids running around me squealing lol! However, it doesn’t take away the enjoyment of such a simple act.

Lastly, remember you can do anything for 5 minutes so why not to do something positive for your well being. 💕

Why Floating is Therapeutic!

I don’t know about you, but this is the time of year that I start craving some Vitamin Sea!

Did you know that floating in nature, or feeling weightless in a hammock, or even utilizing a “flotation tank”, also known as a “sensory deprivation chamber” has many benefits! It is most often used as a method for relaxation and to boost creativity. It can allow one to engage in a deep meditative state, regardless of meditation experience.

The Importance of Walking in Nature!

I get it, it’s hard to get outdoors when you would rather stay cozied up inside where it’s warm, but did you know that walking in nature can decrease depression, improve your wellbeing and mental health, and lower perceived stress???

Sometimes all we have is 5 minutes!! So this is just a friendly reminder to try and spend those 5 minutes doing something POSITIVE for yourself!!

Imagine how you would feel if you implemented walking in nature for 5 minutes a day, 7 days a week!!!😊

Happy New Year everyone! Since we have entered into a new decade, I have been fired up to set intentions, put goals into action and manifest my wildest dreams. I kicked the new year off by creating a Vision Board for my “2020 Vision” and hung it up by my bathroom sink so I would see it every day!

Did you know that a vision board is a concrete representation of your desires and aspirations for a compelling life? They are also fun to create and can serve as an invaluable tool to motivate and inspire you towards concrete daily action in pursuit of your biggest and most important life goals!
